I’ve got this whole post coming soon about Pop music and how it’s occasionally a delicious treat…kind of like a greasy In N Out burger after a seriously heavy binger…but I didn’t write that yet. But it goes something like, “Pop music is like fast food, yada yada yada…and there’s plenty of space on my iPod for Lady Gaga and Led Zeppelin.” So for today’s Music Monday, I’m sort of beating myself to the punch, which is really just a nice way of saying that I’m a huge procrastinator and also somewhat lazy.
I’ll save my Lady Gaga defense for another time, you guys, but seriously – do yourselves a favor and listen to this track off her newly released ARTPOP album. “Swine” fuses heart-pounding beats with EDM and pig noises. Yes, actual sounds of grunting swine (or at least that’s what it sounds like.) In the track’s chorus, Gaga expels her disgust out of her as if she’s exorcizing a demon within: “You’re just a pig inside a human body. Squealer, squealer, squeal out, you’re so disgusting! You’re just a pig inside…swine.”
Followed by the greatest rollercoaster-build-up and exploding beats that make you feel like you’re on ecstasy. Party.

If you’ve ever surfed the Internet even once in your life, you know Gaga can be pretty divisive amongst music fans and Internet trolls, alike. Reviews for ARTPOP have been just as polarizing. That said, Lady Gaga is more Amy Winehouse than Katy Perry – the world will remember her 50 years from now.
Unlike that other pop star who kissed a girl once.
