One of Connecticut’s newest and largest indoor festivals is coming soon and it’s bringing loads of deliciousness along with it. Get ready, New Haven: On Saturday, March 22, 2014, the 4B’s are coming your way: beer, bourbon, barbeque and bacon.
“We feel that these four categories complement each other really well, and each represents popular food and drinks that we personally love and believe a lot of people do as well,” said David Salinas, CEO of Digital Surgeons and creator of the 4B Festival.
The festival is being held in the old swimsuit factory located at 1175 State Street. It’s the perfect spot to gorge oneself with the 4B’s, with its 30-foot ceilings and over 20,000 square feet of space that has recently been converted into a creative space and event hot-spot. Thanks to New Haven’s culture-rich qualities, Salinas says the city is the perfect locale to host a foodie fest like 4B.
“New Haven is the best city of Connecticut in my opinion. It is fresh, trendy, artsy and rich with culture and energy. From a culinary perspective, there is a tremendous amount of diversity and quality, so it made sense that this happens here and stays here,” he said.
If this is the first time you’re hearing about the 4B Festival – you’re going to want to take a peek at the vendor list. Here are just a few of the companies making an appearance: City Steam, Two Roads, Thimble Island, Bakon Vodka, Maker’s Mark 46, Dinosaur BBQ, Blackrock BBQ, Knob Creek, and plenty more (click here for the full list.) And more vendors are definitely on the way; festival creators are in discussions with 30 additional vendors and hoping to curate “the best of the best” for the event.
Included in the ticket price is a souvenir 4B glass that beer and bourbon lovers can use for the tastings, in between scarfing down the scrumptious food samplings from pit masters, chefs and BBQ restaurants. And the bacon! Never forget the bacon…4B will be loaded with various bacon samplings and bacon-infused treats. (Let the salivating commence!) There’s also going to be a home brewers competition, a BBQ competition, a bacon eating contest, local bands playing through the event, and some art displays on site.
Uh…yes, please!
The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 22nd, with a possible second night session which may be announced soon. For more information on tickets, click here or visit 4bfest.com.
