You see – back then, you needed a special code for the blood and gore!) Though the game was controversial at the time, it was nothing compared to what Mortal Kombat X has in store! My, how desensitized we’ve become…

Set to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 14, 2015, there is virtually no limit to the bloodshed and appendage destruction. Bones crack, heads explode, rib cages are ripped open, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the viscera found in this tiny little seven-minute slice of gameplay. I legitimately got grossed out in the first couple minutes, but then became oddly entranced by it. Shit’s not normal!

If you’re psyched for the game’s release or if you haven’t played the series in a hot second (guilty!), you should definitely check out this video. SPOILER WARNING to the superfans (and if hyper-realistic video game gore makes you queasy, you might want to consider bailing. Seriously – it’s like an Eli Roth torture porn movie, but worse?)
