Want to feel old? Buffy the Vampire Slayer turns 20 this week. That’s right, Scoobies—Buffy hit The WB on March 10, 1997, serving up a bloody good blend of horror, comedy, and drama, garnished with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s biting (pun intended) display of wit and killer 90’s fashion (which almost feels straight out of yet another Bizarro World).
To commemorate what many call one of the greatest TV shows of all time, 20th Century Fox has licensed swarms of new Buffy merch that will make any die-hard do the wacky. Check out these new collectibles you’ll soon be jonesing for like Cave-Buffy and a cold, foamy beer.
New Tees By Ripple Junction
Want to display your Sunnydale pride? Ripple Junction has a plethora of new tees (available now on Amazon or the company’s official site) that will bring out the hyena…err…razorback in any hardcore fan. Some are a little cheeky—but fun!—though, I’d opt for a less-is-more vibe with the classic SHS logo. Prices range from $19.95-25.Hot Topic’s Line of Buffy Schwag
If those don’t slay you, Hot Topic raises the stakes with items like Buffy’s “Graduation Day” trench coat ($99.90), Willow’s “Doppelgangland” sweater ($42.90), and the baddest and raddest, Faith’s Season 3 jacket ($69.90).Not looking to don your Buffy love on your person? There’s plenty more where that came from.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Big Bads & Monsters Adult Coloring Book
I suck at coloring, but I’m super into this new adult coloring book that’s coming out September 19. Inside are 45 illustrations of your favorite Scooby Gang battling the most evil Big Bads, from The Master and Angelus, to Spike and Drusilla. If coloring is your jam, grab Mr. Pointy (doesn’t everyone call their sharp colored pencils that?) and get busy on these vamps, demons, witches, and more. It’ll set you back $13.49 on Amazon (or 14 kittens if you buy it from Clem.)
Vampyr Stationery Set by Insight Editions
For the doodlers, writers or those in need of a “Tabula Rasa,” this Vampyr stationery set is probably the coolest notebook you could ever own. It comes with a hardcover pocket journal, 20 Buffy-themed note cards and envelopes, 20 gold foil stickers, and a keepsake box for storage. Giles would be proud. (Available for pre-order. Releases August 29 for $17.69 on Amazon.)Omnibus Season 8 Vol 1
After the series ended, Joss Whedon and some of his best writers continued Buffy’s story in comic form, writing and drawing new Buffy stories up to Season 11. This collection includes the first four arcs of Season 8, with one-shots and stories written by Whedon, Brian K. Vaughn, Drew Goddard and Jeph Loeb. The art is killer and fans that are still mourning the show’s demise can continue the campy fun in picture form. ($16.37 on Amazon)The Buffy Encyclopedia: The Ultimate Guide to the Buffyverse
