Two discs I’m definitely looking forward to:
First – Neko Case’s “Middle Cyclone” hits stores March 3rd. I dig Neko. Not to mention that I love The New Pornographers. Neko’s solo work does a great job at mixing folk with alt-country in a way that doesn’t exclude or alienate listeners. It took me awhile to get into, but only because of my own reservations.
Amongst the new tunes: a cover of Harry Nilsson’s “Don’t Forget Me”. Stereogum has some great videos of the new songs being played live on her last tour. Check those out here.
And the 2nd: Peter, Bjorn, and John’s “Living Thing” drops on March 31st. Damn, I’ve still got “Young Folks” in my head. I think this trio will definitely be one to watch. I’ve got high expectations of the new disc, and I’m confident that it’ll deliver.
