The New ‘Disaster Artist’ Trailer Will Tear You Apart (Lisa)

DA

You’ve seen the “Oh, hi Mark” scene. You’ve watched the “You’re tearing me apart, Lisa!” bit on repeat via YouTube. Now, we’re one step closer to the film that will depict the making of the Citizen Kane of bad movies

This just-released trailer for The Disaster Artist shows us a first glimpse of new scenes (outside of film festival screenings, of course), and as a die-hard Room loyalist, it looks like everything I need it to be. We see actor-director-producer-possible-vampire Tommy Wiseau’s fearlessness in acting (“STELLA!”). We see Judd Apatow giving him a ruthless takedown (“It’s not gonna happen for you…not in a million years!). We see Tommy constructing an alleyway set even though there’s an identical, real alleyway steps outside. The madness doesn’t let up from there.

The film currently holds a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been generally well-received after screening at both South by Southwest and the Toronto International Film Festival. As one YouTuber said in the comments section for the trailer:

“This is the film I want aliens to find millions of years in the future.”

Respect.
