This January, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s sketch comedy IFC series Portlandia returns for more bird loving, local fish and produce, and feminist books. Along with them come guest stars like Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Tim Robbins, Jack McBrayer, and more! There is a God.
As any fan can tell you, “Portlandia” stars Fred Armisen (“SNL”) and Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater-Kinney) as a variety of wonderfully eccentric characters including Peter and Nance, a bohemian couple caught up in the organic and local food movement; Bryce Shivers and Lisa Everesman, an arty and obsessive couple; and Toni and Candice, the formerly activist, self-involved shopkeepers of the feminist bookstore “Women and Women First.” In addition to the current inhabitants, several new residents will be moving in for season two.
Check out this just-released sneak peek clip from IFC:
Brownstein and Armisen are beyond brilliant, destroying SNL with ridiculous tales of neurotic hipsters from Portland, Oregon’s zany culture. From animal rights, bicycle power, and precious crafts, to the feminist fringe, cults, and Harajuku girls, Portlandia leaves no part of society unscathed.
You haven’t seen it? That’s the bad news. The good news is that you can watch clips on Hulu or purchase the episodes digitally from iTunes or Amazon.
Trust me, precious readers: It’s worth the cash.
