The Hunger Games: Mockingjay trailer hit the web and though I’m tickled with anticipation for another smattering of Katniss Everdeen, part of me also wonders when the hell this damn thing will just END.
These pesky blockbusters just don’t stop. The Twilight fiasco seemed like an entire decade of Internet ramblings and weirdo, girly fandom everywhere you go. Even women in their thirties and forties wouldn’t shut their yappers about Bella and Edward – at work, at parties, in your mom’s bed – there was no escaping it!
I’m a big Hunger Games fan, but I’m not so supportive of the whole “turn one book into two movies” thing. And turning one book into three movies!? Don’t get me started!
So Katniss is back again to continue battling The Capitol and find Peeta and save her district and maybe that other district. What’s so great about the third installment of this series is that the conclusion doesn’t wuss out. It’s a battle to the very end…a battle that has consequences for everyone. It may be a YA story, but it doesn’t shy away from life’s tough moments. There will be no sugar-coated happy end for this Girl On Fire.
I may be first in line to see the final act’s first part (insert eyeroll here), but once the lights come up on Part 2, this time in 2015…I’ll be more than ready to take a one-way train out of District 12.
The trailer sure does look appetizing though…
“Don’t Get Me Started!” Best random reference I’ve seen in awhile hahaha
