Bacon and peanut butter are a match made in delicious piglet heaven. This recipe from Dude Foods takes it one step further…and deep fries the two culinary BFFs into tiny morsels of mouthwatering goodness. You will definitely want these balls in your mouth (yep…I’m 12).
What’s so refreshing about this website is that they spare you the 1,000 words about what the weather is like, what happened in their day, and other “adventurous” details about being white, shopping at Whole Foods, and the difficult challenges of stay-at-home parenting (gag). Dude Foods is a no-frills food blog that’s like: BACON. GOOD. PEANUT BUTTER. GOOD. So I should take a page out of their book and just get to it already.
Here’s what you do:
1. Spoon peanut butter into an ice cube tray and freeze that shit up.
2. Remove the peanut butter from the trays. Coat them in flour, dip them in egg, and roll them in panko breadcrumbs. YOU’RE DOING GREAT!
3. This is the very important part, you guys. Don’t mess around here. Wrap each ball in two (count ’em – 2!) slices of bacon. Toothpick that ish together.
4. Deep dry at 375 degrees for about a minute. Remove them from the fryer and, while simultaneously trying to not burn your skin off like the pervy chef dude in Sleepaway Camp, slice one open and watch that warm, gooey peanut butter ooze all over the place. Consider actual salivation.
5. Admire your work of art.
I sadly do not own a deep fryer. If you make this recipe, please contact me immediately for an in-depth interview. If you are a friend of mine and you do have a deep fryer…let’s be friends ASAP.
This looks insane.
