Rock That Rocks: The KillTones – ‘Shapeshifter’

The Killtones Raw.animals.dance

Two years ago, Ohio natives The KillTones released their debut self-titled record. The KillTones was straight up American Rock ‘n’ Roll that was so badly needed in the music scene at the time. Raw, loud, energetic. It was an honest, explosive release from a band that was hungry and ready to be heard.

Now, they’re back with a sophomore effort entitled Raw.animals.dance, which just hit Spotify and other music outlets on the Internets. My favorite track: “Shapeshifter.” With a bitchin’ riff reminiscent of Band of Skulls, the album opener packs a punch and showcases the best of what The KillTones have up front. Though I can’t say I prefer Raw over the debut, this band’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

Check out “Shapeshifter” below and if you like what you hear, both albums can be heard on Spotify in full. A couple other tracks to chew on: Off Raw.animals.dance, check out “Jurassic Funk” and “Make Up Your Mind.” Off the self-titled: “Cut You Down,” “Been a Skeptic,” and Black Moon Heartache.”
