Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly and JOHN GOODMAN. It’s safe to say that I’d watch any movie with this cast. Hell, they could reboot Twilight or do another Josie and the Pussycats and if it had Larson and Goodman gracing the screen, I’d be IN.
Unfortunately, this movie is another King Kong installment, which I’m not super psyched about if I’m being completely honest. However, it’s the second movie in Legendary Entertainment’s Godzilla-King Kong reboot series, which after 2019’s Godzilla 2, will bring the two beasts together for the first time since 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla. So Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020? I can definitely get behind that. So we’d all better keep up here.
(It’s also worth mention that the movie’s director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, directed a really great coming-of-age dramedy in 2013 called The Kings of Summer. You should check it out if you haven’t seen it! Nick Offerman is in it. So there’s that. Vogt-Roberts has also directed episodes of You’re the Worst – one of my current TV faves.)
The second trailer for Kong: Skull Island was just released and it has effectively squashed all my nonchalance. I think I may even have the tiniest little sparks of excitement here! Check out the trailer for yourself. Are you sold?
I just want to say “JOHN GOODMAN” one more time.
OK, as you were.
If Hiddleston is in it I will just watch with the sound turned off.
