Pink Floyd released The Division Bell a whopping 20 years ago. Coming this October, the band will follow up Bell with its first record of new material since, entitled The Endless River.
The album will be comprised of new, unreleased material from that era, with contributions from most band members including the late keyboardist Rick Wright. Polly Samson, wife of David Gilmour, originally dropped the news via Twitter. She has provided lyrics for River just as she did on the band’s previous record and Gilmour’s On An Island.
Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called “The Endless River”. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.

There is no news of a reconciliation between Gilmour and Roger Waters, however, it’s a safe bet that Waters won’t be featured on the new disc (he wasn’t on Bell either).
This news is insane. I never thought I’d ever type the words: “a new Pink Floyd album.” But save a spot in your Best of 2014 lists. It’s happening.
