Last year, Rob Zombie promised that he wasn’t going to direct another installment in his “Halloween” reboot series and that he wasn’t going to create remakes of any kind.
He lied.
Variety reports that Zombie and Dimension Films are teaming up to produce a sequel to Zombie’s “Halloween,” due out by Halloween 09. It is said that the sequel will also not follow too closely to the original Number 2, though it will begin shortly after the events in the first film…err…remake.
This is getting confusing.
Zombie’s version was OK. I own the DVD and saw it in the theater. But is it one of my favorite horror movies? No. Favorite remake? Not even close. The first attempt was a solid one, but another “Halloween”!? Interest is waning, here, Bob-O. Let’s make sure it doesn’t totally blow, OK?
In sort-of-unrelated news, I haven’t been able to come to terms with the “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake plans, though, I am rather excited for the “Friday the 13th” remake.
More on both of those later…
