It’s finally happening! And Scream Factory is the shit.

If you aren’t familiar with Scream Factory, a branch of Shout! Factory dedicated to releasing horror and sci-fi films with cult followings (on Blu-ray), you should get to it and check out their website for a list of releases. The company has successfully revived some of the hardest movies to find from the vaults and had a very successful 2013 doing so. So what will 2014 bring? Probably a ton of stuff, but also SLEEPAWAY CAMP. 

If you’ve ever read this blog for at least 30 seconds, you’ve probably found me spitting truth about how Sleepaway Camp is one of my favorite movies ever, horror or otherwise. And then there was that time where I spent hours researching the whereabouts of Renée Estevez, star of Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers (and yes, Emilio’s sister). So news of this new Blu-ray release means the series is still alive and I am all smiles.

The new release, which will be uncut (!), will be available May 27th. Extras and bonus goodies to be announced closer to release. And the new cover art and release are all approved by writer/director Robert Hiltzik. It’s all legit, kiddos.

If you haven’t seen this film – buy this Blu-ray immediately. Yanno. In four months.
