That might be the most ridiculous headline I’ve ever written. Is this real? How can it be so? How does it work? So many questions. Here is what we do know:

Oscar Mayer has created a device that will attach to your phone and emit the scent of bacon right when your alarm goes off. The company states: “Prepare yourself for a bacon awakening beyond your wildest imagination. Wake Up & Smell The Bacon is a multi-sensory alarm experience that starts your morning with the mouthwatering sizzle and smell of Oscar Mayer bacon.”

Uh, it’s a little too early for April Fool’s, right?

Other bonkers things about this: You have to “Apply for a chance to get the device.” What the what!? I don’t know what Oscar is trying to do here. Toy with our emotions? Get our hopes up? Just sell us their bacon as we gawk at a fictional bacon-smelling device? I’m so confused.
